Dr. Thomas
Consultant Lead
I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive experience in supporting adults experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and complex emotional difficulties. I am on the GMC Specialist Register for Adult Psychiatry and Addictions.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming. My approach is calm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I take time to listen carefully to your story — not just your symptoms — so that together we can build a clear and meaningful understanding of what is happening and what will help.
Alongside clinical practice, I have been involved in research and publications across a range of areas including early intervention in bipolar disorder, psychosis, psychosomatic medicine, and neuropsychiatry. My academic work reflects a long-standing interest in how biological, psychological, and social factors come together in shaping mental health — particularly in the early stages, when timely support can make a lasting difference.
I bring this evidence-based perspective into my everyday practice. Whether you are seeking a comprehensive assessment, diagnostic clarity, medication advice, or ongoing therapeutic support, I aim to provide care that is both scientifically grounded and personally attuned to you.
Beyond the clinic, I am a keen traveller, cultural explorer, and photographer. From time spent with Amazonian communities to encounters with Mongolian shamanic traditions, my experiences reflect a deep interest in human resilience, belief systems, and the diverse narratives that shape identity. This global perspective informs my psychiatric practice, grounding it in cultural sensitivity and respect for each individual’s lived experience.
I approach psychiatry not only as a medical discipline, but as a careful study of human stories — integrating science, culture, and compassion in the service of recovery and meaningful change.
